Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has brought California to the brink of an economic and political disaster of greater magnitude than any other politician at any time in history.
Constantly bantering the phrase "I want to give California back to the Californians" we never thought that he meant to give it back to us broken, busted and beyond repair. Thanks Arnold, what a great neighbor you would make. Couldn't trust you enough to even lend you my lawnmower.
It is a disaster. A budget deficit over $24 Billion and growing. What's Arnold's solution? Fire the teachers. Fire the firefighters. Maybe stop hiring cops for awhile, not for long because the unions will object. Make everyone take a day off, unpaid. Fire clerks and other people who lack representation. After all, those without a voice are the easiest to fire and there is no political repercussion.
Maybe the solution is to fire Arnold. Gray Davis, his predecessor, was recalled but in retrospect Davis was at least consistent and probably a better politician than Arnold. Davis didn't wait for the State to collapse financially. Instead he sold its various economic parts to the highest bidder, especially if there was a campaign contribution included.
Got the dough?? You can have the water rights for Silicon Valley. You are a major campaign contributor?? Wow, have I got an economic bonanza for you - how about the State contract for cleaning highways?
Californians have had enough of Arnold's nonsense. There is nothing Arnold can say or do that will rehabilitate him in this State. He has tried to get a job in Federal government, but Obama doesn't want him either. Who would?
