Conflict Based Economies: War Can Never End

A peace movement poster: Israeli and Palestini...Image via Wikipedia

Both Israel and Palestine depend entirely on international financing for survival. What better way to hustle donations than create an urgent need for national security?

Israel faces destruction from the Arab world, Palestine faces destruction from Israel. The truth is that both nations must continue to engage in conflict with each other. It is essential for their economic well-being. Who will donate to either country if there is peace? Without a compelling need to donate huge sums of money to defend these nations their importance diminishes substantially.

It is imperative that bombings occur, that citizens die, that temples and mosques are destroyed, that prisoners are taken. All the elements of a good war movie must be present to tug at the purse strings of citizens in the US, Canada, Europe, Russia and Asia.

If you are not emotionally committed to one side or the other and willing to donate your hard-earned cash then you represent the enemy of the Middle-East, complacency. Deny financial aid to both sides equally and the conflict must end. Forced into peace, both nations have the potential to fail economically.

Netanyahu's speech at the Begin-Sadat Center today is intended to placate the Obama Administration. The Israeli's don't want peace if it means an end to their prosperity. The Palestinians don't want peace if it eliminates jobs.

The sad fact is that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is largely manufactured, created for the purpose of building their nations through foreign aid. Without it where would Israel be today, a third world nation carved out of the desert with little or no industry and few prospects? Instead the continuous flow of donations and financial aid has allowed Israel to develop manufacturing capabilities, distribution networks, retail facilities and an information technology second to none.

The true destabilizing factor in Israel and Palestine would be Peace.
