The U.S. Holocaust Memorial and Museum was closed Thursday as it mourned a guard who died defending the building from a mad gunman.
The guard was 39 year old John's, who died in the line of duty while trying to subdue the rifle carrying attacker. The attacker was 88 year old James von Brunn who was a holocaust denier known for many years as a trouble maker and an anti-Semite. Von Brunn lived in Hayden, Idaho, home to the Aryan Nations, a racist group run by Richard Butler.
He wrote a book called 'Kill the Best Gentiles", a racist attack on Jewish politics.
Thank God, Johns was a loyal and dedicated security guard and saved many lives. He was a true hero.
