Kenneth Feinberg is speculated to be the Obama Administrations top choice for the job of Special Master overseeing the compensation packages for management of companies receiving government bailout monies.
Feinberg has a reputation for precise, no frills accounting which may anger some of those executives who are used to using the corporate Lear Jet for personal use on the weekends. "Use it, pay for it", is Feinberg's approach to executive compensation.
Feinberg previously administered the compensation fund for families of the victims of 9/11. Dealing with a highly emotional issue and trying to compensate victims while maintaining a sense of business acumen set Feinberg apart from the others as a candidate.
While corporate CEO's may be emotional about losing their sometimes extraordinary perks, the bigger picture would suggest that those CEO's simply grin and bear it. The number of job opening for CEO's is diminishing on a daily basis and an unemployed CEO is not that much different than an unemployed factory worker.
