A small group of demonstrators attempted to gather outside a mosque in central Tehran today when 500 policeman waiting inside the mosque, armed with guns, batons and tear-gas, attacked the demonstrators killing several and wounding many.
Helicopters above dropped a liquid form of pepper-spray on the crowd causing burns to their arms and heads.
Iran's Intelligence Minister Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ezhei made absurd excuses for the actions taken by police today, and in the June 20th murder of Neda Agha Soltan suggested that Neda looked like the sister of a terrorist suspect from a remote part of Iran and that her murder was probably a mistake. The Iranian people are not so gullible as to accept the governments contention that the entire episode was created by British and Americans.
Meanwhile, Tehran's police continue to heavily guard the cemetery where Neda is buried preventing anyone from approaching. If a car drives close to the cemetery grounds the police spray-paint the car so it can be followed and its occupants detained.
The seriously injured are allegedly being taken to local hospitals in ambulances but instead disappear en route and their whereabouts are presently unknown.
