British Embassy Staff Arrested In Iran

Iran has arrested a number of local British Embassy staff in Tehran over allegations of having a role in the recent post-election riots.

The number of staff who have been arrested isn't clear as there have been conflicting and confusing reports but it appears that 8 are still being held.


The UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband has dismissed the allegations as baseless and the European Union has demanded their immediate release.
