Kids Cheat In School: Parents Go To Prison

The incredibly fierce competition to get into college in China has kids resorting to ingenious high-tech methods of cheating on the entrance exams. Like miniature radio receivers or open-line cell phones connected to a group of university graduates.

China's method of dealing with this problem is unique. Put the parents and the teachers in prison. While it seems absurd, China has no other method of dealing with the problem and since college admissions are limited there is really no prospect of reducing or eliminating the problem of cheating.

This year the Chinese government has adopted a plan of group intimidation by placing enhanced security in the test rooms. Using armed Police and Soldiers as proctors, video-cameras scanning the test takers, metal detectors sweeping the room and who knows what else they can dream of.

Want to go to college, better be able to override Chinese scrutiny if you plan to cheat. Not a cheater? You may still be characterized as one since none of the methods of detection are so sophisticated as to single out an individual from all of the other students in the room.

So far this year the Chinese government has prosecuted eight Parents and Teachers and imprisoned them all simply because their kids are alleged to have cheated on an exam. Imagine your child arriving home with armed troops and subsequently being arrested because you are the parent.

Heavy-handed policing is nothing new in China where the rush to become a dominate world-power excludes all human and constitutional rights. Nothing is permitted to stand in the way of the revolution. Embarrass the Chinese government with negative publicity and you will be executed by a firing squad. Let's hope they don't take kids school exams to such an extreme. Sphere: Related Content
